Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - First Birthday!

I have had the privilege of doing cakes for this sweet family many times now.  Their newest addition just turned one.  Check out this sweet little First Birthday dessert table they put together for little Bradley with the theme, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".  SO adorable!

Vintage Fair Party

Who doesn't love a fun party and theme?! These two did it up well for their little one's birthdays with a Vintage Fair and Carnival theme.  I had the privilege of making a variety of sweets for these two parties.  Sweets included were; Root beer Float, Salted Caramel Churro, Pink Lemonade, Snow Cone and Funnel Cake... ALL cupcake flavors!  ... and a SIX layer Rainbow cake.  I absolutely loved trying out these new flavor combinations! :)

A Tinkerbell Birthday Party

It's hard to believe that my niece is turning 6 this week.  Time really does fly by!  I absolutely LOVE being an auntie!  She has now grown up to be a sweet big sister, fantastic reader, toothless kindergartner.  This past weekend we celebrated her birthday with a Tinkerbell Party.  I was given the task to create a Tinkerbell doll cake.  A fun task it was!  Here are just a few pics :)  Enjoy!

1. I started with a double layer 9 inch cake with a hole in the middle for the doll.

2.  I had baked a portion of the cake in my metal mixing bowl. That trick turned out to be perfect!

3.  Next, I added a thin crumb coat around the whole cake.

 4.  I inserted Tinkerbell and then gave the cake a final coat of frosting with adding some swooshing to make it look like a flowing dress.

5. Now for the real fun part!  Decorating her dress with 'leaves' and flowers.

6. Ta-da!  Finished her off with some pixie dust of course and then packed her up to go.

A Tea Fit for a Princess

Autrey Turns 5!
This was truly a special birthday for my niece.  We all had so much fun with the Princess theme.  Grammy made both dresses for the girls, my sister made the tea treats complete with tea sandwiches (heart shaped peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches) and raspberry lemonade and Auntie (yours truly) made the princess cake, fondant covered vanilla bean cake with strawberry filling.  Everyone, including the one and only little knight had an enchanted day! :)
